On the advice and encouragement of my friend and fellow artist, Val Margolin, I embarked upon my journey towards becoming a surface pattern designer in late 2021. I invested in the latest iPad, Apple Pencil, and Procreate software and proceeded to crash course my way through the University of YouTube with endless tutorials. There have been many stops and starts and though I still consider myself to be (and probably will long-be) a novice in this new world of Surface Patterns, I’m proud to be writing this next chapter in my artistic journey.
